The health and safety of the families we serve and of our staff is our top priority. At this time, The Paulk Funeral Home will operate normally and welcome the public for visitations and services. During confusingand concerning times such as the current COVID-19 event, we want to share our plans with you.
First, we are closely monitoring and following all guidelines from the CDC, National Funeral Directors Association, and Georgia Funeral Directors Association, as well as all local and state emergency services. As of Sunday, March 15, the CDC is recommending public gatherings should not exceed 50 people. We are prepared to offer families the option of holding a private service at the time of death followed by a public memorial service at a later date.
We will make every effort to accommodate families in making arrangements and conducting services in any capacity needed to ensure their safety and comfort while honoring their loved one.
In an effort to minimize direct contact, we ask that physical contact, such as shaking hands, be limited with family members. Direct Eye Contact, Loving Words, and a Warm Smile can be as meaningful to the families as a traditional handshake or hug, especially during these difficult times.
We request that guests who are experiencing any color or flu-like symptoms including fever, cough and shortness of breath refrain from visiting the funeral home at this time.
In order to avoid compromising the health of our visitors, we have online register books available and the option to call our offices for us to add your name to the register books. For those who refrain from coming for any services you are welcome to leave messages for the family on our website: www.paulkfuneralhome.com.
We will make available hand sanitizer throughout our facilities and have enacted extra cleaning in all of our public areas. We will share any and all updates that we receive from the CDC and NFDA to keep families informed. We will follow all new guidelines that are directed as the need arises.
Again, our staff is here to serve, protect and honor each family as we have been for over a century. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to call either of our locations.

*CDC information copies from NFDAAt this time, the CDC states that decedents with COVID-19 may be buried or cremated according to the family’s preferences. They state that there is currently no known risk associated with being in the same room at a funeral home with the body of someone who has died of COVID-19. However, the CDC states that people may consider not touching the body of someone who has died of COVID-19.
